Today was move day. Moving from one camp to another that is. This camp is inland, and in the middle of vineyard country.

| Tree lined roads - leaving Truc Vert |
 |
| The Arcachon Bassin - Low tide |
We left Truc Vert and the Arcachon Bassin with the roads with woods on either side, and headed off in the direction of Pineuilh, literally just next to
Sainte-Foy-la-Grande which is just past Saint-Émilion - very famous for it's wine. (Shame I don't drink much alcohol.)
We crossed the bridge Pont d'Aquitaine and skirted around the north of Bordeaux. Far quicker with a 1 tonne caravan in tow!

| A man's home is his castle! |
On the way, we saw a what I thought was a house - if it is, rather than an office, it is an impressive house. Not much of a view really - since it's right on the edge of the motorway.
As we went further inland, crops changed from the familiar corn and sunflowers to vines. As far as the eye can see, just vines. People even grow them, it seems, in their gardens!! They even grow them on the central reservation of the roundabouts!! As we're being told 'Take the third exit ...'. I'm bust admiring the well kept vines on the roundabout!

| Well, there's a familiar sight!! |
Every now and then, we do see some familiar shop names - Lidl is one of them! Sadly, it's not
quite as good as the ones we have in the UK - since there is a wide choice of supermarkets to choose from here in France, it's not quite as popular as it is back in UK.
We went past
Saint-Emilion, which was just beautiful!! We MUST go back to have a proper look. My husband worked here for a short time nearly 20 years ago, picking grapes on one of the farms. Talk about coming full circle!!
 |
Entering Sainte-Foy-la-Grande which is
literally a 10 min stroll from the campsite.
|
We entered the town, and it is just so pretty!!
Beautiful typically French style buildings, and a Jag with flowers in the boot and bonnet! I suppose that's one way to recycle an old car! And there's a street that's covered with colourful umbrellas!! It is so beautiful! Yes, I do like it here a lot.
We reached the campsite, and it couldn't be more different from the last one if it tried!! It's quiet, and there's no sound of a thousand beet bottles being smashed in the bottle bin. The river runs right past the site, and it's mainly older people and families here rather than the 20 somethings (and 20 something wannabes!!) of the last place. Very peaceful. We'll be here for a few days, while we have a good look around the area. I have a feeling it's going to be a good week!!
