Camping and the issue of washing clothes ...

When packing for a holiday, or any time away from home, one usually knows how much clothing to pack. After the holiday, one returns with a huge bag full of dirty clothes. .... When relocating a family of four, this formula kindda gets thrown out of the window. There just isn't enough space to pack clean clothes for every day, so washing is an essential duty. Now, most campsites have washing facilities to varying degrees of quality. The first camp, the cost was 3.50 Euros per load (that's 7.00 Euros for a wash and dry). The second camp was 4 Euros per load, and this camp is 4.50 Euros per load. I hate to think how much the next amp is going to cost!! However, most Super U supermarkets have a laundry facility! PHEW! We've tried washing by hand, but with no spin facility, and the washing dripping, it still took two days for the clothes to dry - even in this heat!! And having one's smalls on display for all the passing world to see, is not such a wonderful thing. So we bit the bullet and my husband went to do washing. I separated and stain treated everything, and packed them into two large bin bags.  We used the two big machines since there were 2 HUGE loads to do. .... and thus cost 21 Euros for the two loads and to dry it all. But it meant that we had clean clothes, and they were all dry, and packed away. So yes, 21 Euros well spent! For anyone who doesn't have such large loads of washing, there is a smaller size machine available too.
Honestly, I wish I had my washing machine an tumble dryer with me right now! <sigh>
